Vacancy Short Description : The club is looking to recruit one apprentice to join it's dynamic Greenkeeping team for a 22 month period. The candidate must be enthusiastic, hard working and happy to work in all weathers.

Vacancy Full Description : This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career in the sports turf industry working with a team of experienced greenkeepers at one of the top courses in Suffolk.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing playing surfaces for daily play, mowing of surfaces, raking bunkers, hole changing, aeration work, over seeding, golf course construction and conservation work.
Through this period, you will gain experiecne of machinery operation and maintenance.
You will be mentored by the Courses Manager and Head Greenkeeper.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Mon-Fri 32 hours per week. 6am-2.30pm wiht 30 minute lunch
Salary : £124.80 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Able to work in a team, hard working, reliable and good communication skills. Willing ot work in all weathers doing a physical job.
Skills Required : Ability to follow instructions and use own initiative. A willingness to learn and common sense.

Training to be Provided : Golf Greenkeeping Level 2 Standard including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour with effect from 1st April 2019. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
