Vacancy Short Description : One of East Anglia's leading independent Schools is looking to appoint a Grounds/Horticulture Apprentice to help maintain our wide variety of outdoor areas.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades 9- 4 (A-C). Evidence of qualifications will be required.
Applicants who do not have these entry requirements are invited to complete an English and maths assessment and a short interview at one of the campuses.
Vacancy Full Description : The School has extensive formal gardens at the Senior and Prep Schools and at our Boarding House. We also have amenity and car parking areas and numerous sports pitches. You will join a team of grounds staff who expertly manage and maintain grass areas, flower beds, gardens and sports pitches across the School’s various sites. You will report to the Estates Team Leader for Grounds. This apprenticeship therefore gives wide-ranging opportunities to gain hands on experience, working with experienced mentors.

Working Week : 37.5 hours per week to be worked Mondays – Fridays throughout the year.
Salary : £146.25 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Landscape Operative Standard Level 2 including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour with effect from 1st April 2019. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
Working Week: as detailed above 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day, Mondays-Fridays)
