Vacancy Short Description : This is a fantastic opportunity to work with horses in a great working enviroment. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience from the team at the yard.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades. Evidence of qualifications will be required.
Vacancy Full Description : The apprentice will learn about the care of horse, feeding, health, riding, equipment and all aspect of yard work whilst benefiting from the knowledge of experienced staff at the yard.
Responsibilites and Course Content will include:
•Safe working practices
•Yard & field routines & duties
•Horse anatomy, physiology & welfare
•Horse handling, care & appearance
•Saddlery & equipment
There are two specialised routes for the employer and the apprentice to select from to suit job role and responsibilities:
•Non Riding specific
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Mon-Fri 38 hours per week. Some weekend work.
Salary : £148.20 Per Week

Skills Required :
Knowledge of horses
Horse Experience at Level 1
Good commuincation, both verbal and written
Future Prospects : There is a strong possibility of a permanent role for applicants who meet and exceed the expectations.
Training to be Provided : Equine Groom Standard including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour with effect from 1st April 2019. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
