Vacancy Full Description : The role of apprentice gardener is to work on providing garden and grounds maintenance to homes and businesses in Suffolk. There is also the opportunity to work on landscaping projects that range from full design and installation to smaller planting schemes. The right apprentice closely with Paul Foster, the Managing Director of Allium Gardeners Ltd.

Skills Required : Previous experience mowing and tending lawns, weeding, strimming and general garden maintenance is desirable.

Future Prospects : A strong possibility to join the team on a permanent basis. If the right candidate shows team leader skills then there is an opportunity to become a team leader.
Training to be Provided : College Attendance: No - on site
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour with effect from 1st April 2019. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
