Vacancy Short Description : The Venetian Waterways and Boating Lake are currently undergoing a Heritage Lottery Funded renovation to bring them back to their former glory. The apprentice will work with the gardeners to establish and maintain the new planting scheme.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-C or 9- 4. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.

Vacancy Full Description : The Venetian Waterways and Boating Lake were built in the 1920s and are a grade 2 listed park and garden.
Currently undergoing extensive restoration funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project will reinstate the original planting scheme as far as possible.
The apprentice will work alongside the Head Gardener, Assistant Gardener and volunteers to plant up and establish the new planting scheme.
After the park reopens to the public, work will focus on maintaining the park and its gardens - this will include mowing, weeding, hedge trimming and other tasks throughout the year to keep the park looking its best for its visitors.
You will also be involved in public events which aim to help visitors make the most of their visit to the park.

Working Week : Full time is 37 hours a week
Salary : £144.30 Per Week

Much of the training will be provided 'on the job' but there will potentially also be regular weeks of course training at Easton Otley College.
Other Information : The apprentice will be based at the Venetian Waterways , North Drive, Great Yarmouth.
Things to consider : The nature of the work will mean being outdoors in all seasons and all weathers.
