Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-C or 9- 4. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.

Vacancy Full Description : Do you want to be part of a nationally significant heritage site located on the beautiful East Coast of England? Do you want to play a part in a history going back to WW1 when the gardens were hand dug by men returning from WW1. Are you passionate about working outdoors and being close to nature? Well if you are please come and talk to us in Great Yarmouth. We are looking to give someone a unique opportunity to work on the £2.7m restored Venetian Waterways. We will support you in your personal development and training and welcome your application to become part of history.
The Venetian Waterways and Boating Lake were built in the 1920s and are a grade 2 listed park and garden.
Currently undergoing extensive restoration funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project will reinstate the original planting scheme as far as possible.
The apprentice will enjoy a unique opportunity to work alongside the Head Gardener, Assistant Gardener and volunteers to plant up and establish the new planting scheme.
After the park reopens to the public, work will focus on maintaining the park and its gardens - this will include mowing, weeding, hedge trimming and other tasks throughout the year to keep the park looking its best for its visitors.
You will also be involved in public events which aim to help visitors make the most of their visit to the park.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Full time is 37 hours a week
Salary : £144.30 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Qualification: Horticulture Level 2 apprenticeship
Much of the training will be provided 'on the job' and there will also be regular block weeks of course training at Easton College campus.
Other Information : The apprentice will be based at the Venetian Waterways , North Drive, Great Yarmouth.
Things to consider : The nature of the work will mean being outdoors in all seasons and all weathers.
College attendance at Easton Campus will be block weeks to timetable. Public Transport available into campus.
