Vacancy Short Description : working on a 500acre mixed family farm of arable crops and beef suckler heard of south devons.

 

Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-C or 9- 4. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship.
PLEASE NOTE: Those without the stated entry requirements or awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, may be offered an appointment to come into college (Easton or Otley campus) and sit an online assessment to confirm program suitability.
Vacancy Full Description : the successful applicant will have a great opportunity to learn roles which will include: feeding & checking cattle, learning the breeding side of a beef suckler herd, corn carting, bale carting, cultivation work. odd jobs including helping out on a small game rearing unit and equestrian business. they will also be expected to work some weekend hrs at peak times.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : monday-friday 7:30-4 pm 40hrs worked per week. plus over time.
Salary : £148.00 Per Week

be tidy!
Skills Required : tractor driving (licence)
teliportor licence. (this wound be an advantage but not a necessary)
abilty to work with livestock (cattle)
Future Prospects : future prospects are unknown at this time. but a second year could be possible if all goes well.
Training to be Provided : Intermediate Agriculture Level 2 qualification including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required
Other Information : accommodation is available in a static caravan if needed.
Things to consider : work with the livestock can be quite physical at times.
