Vacancy Short Description : We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who will work closely with the Student Services Team to liaise with students and college staff.

Qualifications Required : Applicants should have at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-C or 9- 4. Evidence of qualifications will be required. Applicants you wish to apply for this post who don’t meet our stated entry requirements, those awaiting GCSE/GCSE retake grades, or mature students e.g. who can’t find GCSE results are encouraged to apply, but please be advised additional initial assessments may be required to ensure programme suitability.
Vacancy Full Description : Working in our busy Student Centre you will ensure the smooth running of the office and provide administrative support to the team, students and other staff. This will include creating documents using Microsoft Office, dealing with emails and post. You will need excellent communication skills as you will answer the phone and be a point of contact for all visitors to the centre. Good attention to detail is essential to ensure your work is accurate and information is recorded correctly.

Below is a summary of your key roles and responsibilities;
• Initial point of contact for visitors, parents, students and staff regarding College-related enquiries
• Provide support and advice for students
• Answer the telephone in a timely, professional and polite manner
• Relay messages
• Support staff as appropriate with campus events such as interview days and open events
• Provide administrative support to the team including letters, copying, producing documents
• Participate in training, meetings and other learning activities and performance development
• Comply with necessary policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health & safety, equality & diversity, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post, as directed by the Student Services Manager and Team Leader.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Monday – Friday 9am-5pm (Flexible work arrangements will be considered).
Salary : £129.50 Per Week

Personal Qualities : We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate candidates who will be efficient and flexible in the office environment. You should have good time management and be able to maintain an organised and tidy environment.
Skills Required : You must have a good working attitude and willingness to learn. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and strong organisational and team working skills. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of spoken and written literacy and ideally have a good general knowledge of ICT packages (Microsoft).

Training to be Provided : Business Administrator Level 3 qualification including Functional Skills in Maths and English if required
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
