Vacancy Short Description : An excellent opportunity to join our existing gardening team of a formal Hall gardens with about 22 acres of well-established gardens, on a large private estate in Norfolk
Qualifications Required : A minimum of 4 x GCSE’s at Grade E or above, including Maths and English, (or equivalent).
Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to thorough initial assessment to clarify course suitability. Entrants must have the ability to achieve Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics and be able to manage the requirements of a Level 2 vocational qualifications.
Vacancy Full Description : The garden comprises of lawns, formal hedges, herbaceous and flower borders. A walled garden with scope for further development, two good sized greenhouses growing flowers, fruit & vegetables and potted plants for the Hall, plus a separate potting shed and a small orchard of apple and pear trees.
Due to recent building works a large part of the garden is being redesigned shortly.
The gardening department also aid with the Estates workload including mowing strimming and maintaining the vineyard

Working Week : 39 hrs 7.45 am start time with 45 min break.
Salary : £156.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Qualification: Level 2 Diploma in work based horticulture
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour, with effect from 1st April 2017. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Working Week: 5 days per week, 39 hours £4.00 per hour. 7.45 am start time with 45 min break.
