Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-E or 9- 3. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship. You will be required to attend Easton or Otley campus for assessment prior to being accepted onto an apprenticeship.
Vacancy Full Description : The responsibilities will include co-ordinating the daily packing for wholesale customers and packing the weekly Box Scheme. The successful applicant will also be responsible for managing the 5 polytunnels growing tomatoes, aubergines, cucumbers and peppers in summer, and oriental leaves in winter and our potted herb enterprise.
The work is varied and ranges from working in the fields, packing in the barn and clerical work. It can be physically demanding but is rewarding and would suit a practical person who is happy to work outside with a keen interest in organic vegetable growing. Experience in field scale vegetable production is not necessary.

Working Week : 40 Hours 8-5pm. Typically Mon-Fri with occasional weekend morning work required
Salary : £148.00 Per Week

Skills Required : A full driving license is essential, due to needing to drive between locations for work.

College Attendance: No regular attendance
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour with effect from 1st April 2017. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
