Vacancy Full Description : Working as an Apprentice in a team of four.
Supporting and learning from the Head Gardener.
30 acre Estate, featuring an outstanding garden.
Private setting; not open to the public.
Grass cutting, strimming, pruning, weeding, planting.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : Five days per week, 7.30 until 4.30. 42.5 hrs
Salary : £157.25 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Enthusiasm for gardening and the outdoors. Content to be part of a small team in a secluded setting. Desire to learn about practical horticulture.
Skills Required : Operating grass cutting and strimming machinery. Plant/weed recognition.
Future Prospects : The opportunity to learn and gain experience in a centre of excellence.
Salary reviewable every six months, for the first two years.
Training to be Provided : Qualification: Horticulture LEVEL 2
College Attendance: NONE - ALL DELIVERY IN WORK PLACE
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
Working Week: Five days per week, 7.30 until 4.30. Morning break 10.00 to 10.30 (paid), lunchbreak 13.00 to 13.30
