Vacancy Short Description : A fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to work at a family owned employer. The suitable person will be exposed to all aspects of the horticulture trade and will be given knowledge and assistant from an experience team.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. We invite candidates into College for an initial assessment.
Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-E or 9- 3. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Vacancy Full Description : Little Bradley hall has an 8 acre mature garden which is constantly developing to support their wedding venue The Garden Barn which operates April – November so need year round colour which is topped up through bedding plants and pots.
Work will include: propagation, greenhouse work, growing bedding plants from seed, blubs, , lawn care, general garden work, weeding , mulching, pruning inc roses.
There is a large veg garden which grows cut flowers for the venue.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 40 hrs 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
Salary : £180.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Physically fit, enjoys working out doors, a good time keeper,
Skills Required : a full driving licence is required due to our rural location , a real interest in growing plants, numerate, flexible about learning new skills, can work as a team working with the owner for propagation work etc, but equally happy to work on their own once trained
Future Prospects : Scope to move to a full time position for the right candidate with accommodation onsite. Employer will pay for worked based training certificates such as PA1&” , Chain Saw
Training to be Provided : Qualification: Horticultural Apprenticeship Level 2
College Attendance: No regular attendance
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition, the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
