Vacancy Short Description : The candidate will be placed with another team member to learn how carry out grounds on a number of commercial site.
They will learn how to recognise hazards and how to avoid them. Learning how to operate a variety of machinery safety and efficiently
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-E or 9- 3. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Proof of qualifications will be required before you can be accepted onto the apprenticeship
Vacancy Full Description : COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES
• Levelling and preparing sites
• Preparing ground for seeding and planting
• Construct and maintain boundaries and paths
• Use and maintain hand held powered tools and equipment
• Monitor and maintain health and safety
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 37+ hours - times to be arranged
Salary : £250.00 Per Week

Skills Required : Must be able to drive due to nature or work and locations.
You will need to be able to think on your feet communicate with clients appropriately and be prepared to train to pass your PA1.
Future Prospects : Once trained you will be given your own sites to maintain and a van and tools and be in charge of your own team
Training to be Provided : Qualification: Horticulture Level 2
College Attendance: NONE
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Working Week: You will be picked up in the morning and dropped off after work on the whole you will be picked up and dropped off within 10hours. The hours are reduced in the winter but the pay will remains the same
