Qualifications Required : Minimum of 5 x GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths and English, (or equivalent)
Coaching qualifications are desirable, including attended or working towards FA Coaching Qualifications.
Vacancy Full Description : Haverhill Community Sports Association have an exciting new opportunity opening up as an advanced sports development apprentice to support the role of the current community football development Manager. The apprentices aim will be to provide opportunities in sport (mainly football) for all sections of the community.
They will distribute information and organize football related activities, classes, programmes, coaching, school club links and club development.
The officer will support participants who wish to play the game for fun as well as supporting higher level participants and support their further development.
The central aim is to increase participation and opportunity within Haverhill and the community area however the sports development officer will be required to support the current facility manager in facility operations including managing budgets, health and safety and staffing the new 3G site.

Working Week : Mon-Sun, min 30hrs p.w. times/days tbc

Future Prospects : The successful applicant will have opportunities to attend FA CPD events as well as gaining further coaching qualifications at no extra expense. The applicant if successful will have opportunities to step into full time employment at the HCSA should they complete the course successfully.
Training to be Provided : Qualification: Level 3 Sports Development
College Attendance: There is no regular college attendance required as the qualification is delivered almost entirely in the workplace.
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour, rising to £3.40 p.h. with effect from 1st October 2016. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Working Week: You will be required to be flexible with regard to working days and times. Days, evenings and weekends will need to be covered by the team, as the hours are dependant on the facilities needs and users.

Things to consider : The post will be both indoors and outdoors, they will be provided with office space to work in administration which will involve usage of computers, outdoor work would be either session delivery or overseeing and supporting the new 3G pitch operations.
